A new road connecting Monivong Bokor National Park to National Road No. 4 with a total length of 61 km has reached 52 km, with only 9 km left to complete the junction.
On 18 March, 2023, Neak Oknha Sok Kong, CEO of Sokimex Group, led an inspection tour to monitor the progress of the road development.
The development of this new road is due to the participation of two famous tycoons, Duke Mong Rithy and Oknha Sok Kong, who paid for the road construction, under the coordination of Deputy Prime Minister Chea Sophara, and approved by Samdech Techo HE, Prime Minister on December 18, 2021.
Keo Sithy, head of sales and marketing at Sokha Hotel, told Kampuchea Thmey that the construction team was working hard to complete the road. He added that in this work, there are many difficulties due to the rugged conditions on the mountains, forests, and valleys; some places have to be filled with soil and rocks, and other places have to be blown up with dynamite to make room for the road to pass. However, he said the team is speeding up the construction of the road and it is nearly finished.
Sokha Hotel has been granted a development investment concession in Monivong "Bokor" National Park. The company has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to develop the concession in all areas, including tourism, culture, religion and real estate.
