Wow, that is strange that you don't need a WP if you had made your extension already.Jerry Atrick wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:54 pmI'm making a visa later this monthdaeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 3:56 pm I talked to an agent. They said they can do a 6 month EB extension without the paperwork which is a little more expensive, and they also said they will do the EP 3 month extension. The claimed that the EG extension no longer exists.
My agent said that because my present visa extension was made prior to October 17th they don't require evidence of wp. I have wp anyhow so doesn't really matter either way

It could just be bluster from the agent. I have the wp, he just said that I didn't need it as supporting evidencedaeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 5:35 pmWow, that is strange that you don't need a WP if you had made your extension already.Jerry Atrick wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:54 pmI'm making a visa later this monthdaeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 3:56 pm I talked to an agent. Same (as I am a self-employed investor). I heavily recommend Sopheakna Travel for anyone who is in Siem Reap, they do everything correctly yet still somehow manage to get it done: didn't even charge me for the initial consultancy fee and helping me arrange my e-visa application.

What if you let you current EB expire though and come back later to apply for ordinary again at the airport. Would they still want you to pay the retroactive fee or can you start over?PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 1:10 pmQ1: You will not be charged retroactive WP fees when applying for an ER from an EB...you only have to pay the retroactive fees when applying for a WP, which you won't need to do if applying for an ER EOS.Doc67 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 10:52 am
I have a technical question.
My new passport has arrived, my old one has been cancelled. My Visa expires on Feb 6th and is an EB EOS. I have no WP and never have, I have been here for 5 years.
Q1:
I'm was planning to apply for my first ER visa, as an EOS, converting from my current EB EOS. Will they want the WP fees for all the time I have been here on an EB EOS without a WP, even though I am now applying for an ER EOS?
I am planning a short 4 day trip abroad in January and I will exit on my old cancelled passport ( to hand in the entry card and show how I got into the country) and re-enter on my new passport.
Q2:
Can I re-renter using my current visa in my cancelled passport, or is it better to simply apply for a new Ordinary visa at the airport and covert that into an ER EOS. This will allow my old visa to expire with the passport it was issued in having left the country, thus closing the book on all those years of EB EOS without a WP ever being produced.
Will this work? Will I be able to start afresh and without anyone nosing around trying to backdate WP charges?
Q2: You can just apply for a new E-type VOA when you return, they will probably ask why since you still have a valid EOS in your cancelled passport, just tell them you list that passport, no issue...or you can reenter with the valid EB EOS in your cancelled passport and then apply for the ER when it's time to renew, either way you won't be charged retroactive WP fees as per my answer to Q1.
I'm thinking to just pay up but need to leave for a few months so if that's an option to skip retroactive pay I would rather save the money.
Really appreciate your time and knowledge here, owe you plenty of beer

If you apply for a WP then that is when you are charged the retroactive fee....leaving the country and coming back on a new Visa doesn't change the fact that you have been in country previous years on an EB without a WP
