Fishermen's Shocking Catch : Skeleton Found in Canal
Cambodia News, (Tbong Khmum Province): Some villagers in Tbong Khmum province received a nasty shock when they pumped the water out of a portion of a canal and were looking to catch the fish hiding in the weed. They said that once most of the water was gone, they went down to catch fish with their hands, when suddenly they touched something strange: it was the bones of a dead person !
The villagers were all shocked and surprised to find a skeleton in the mud at the bottom of the canal, and none of them had any idea who could have died there.
The villagers called the police, who exhumed the remains from the canal bed, and examined the skull and skeleton. They found that the man's left leg had been injured, and concluded that he had been dead for about five months.
After this inspection, the police and the authorities packed up the skeleton, waiting for further research and identification. Police have appealed to the public to contact them if any family members are missing, at the Police Inspectorate of Ponhea Krek District, Tbong Khmum Province to get further information.
