Drinking Buddies Arrested for Murder and Cover-Up

Cambodia News (Kep Province): On March 12, 2023, a man accused of murder and his 6 co-conspirators were sent to trial for the murder of a man during a drinking party in Chamkar Bei village, Pong Teuk commune, Damnak Chong Er district, Kep province, on March 5th.

The alleged murderer was named as Yong Vody, a 31-year-old male construction worker from Orolous, Kompong Trolach district, Kampot province. The victim was Phen Ram, a 36-year-old man from Tropang Pring Khang Cheung village, Teuk Chou district, Kampot province. The other men are alleged to have assisted the murderer in his crime, hiding the body, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
