Cambodia News, (Kandal Province): On March 10, 2023, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Office of the Kandal Provincial Police, in cooperation with the Ponhea Leu District Police Force under the direct command of Major General Chhoeun Socheat the Kandal Provincial Police Commissioner, raided the Chumnor Boeung Leap KTV in Tuol Prich village, Chrey Las commune, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province. The police arrested two people and rescued three girls, including two minors.

The two suspects are Chum Choeun, male, 44 years old, Khmer, owner of Boeung Leap KTV 168 restaurant and karaoke club, and his wife, Ngin Sokhon, 39 years old. After receiving a complaint from one of the girls, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Office of the Kandal Provincial Police investigated the case and found that the two KTV shop owners were confining their female employees and using them as sex workers.

Two of the employees are minors under 15 years old:
1-Name: K. Ch.A. Female, 14 years old, 03 months and 17 days
2-Name: VS.N, Female, 14 years old, 06 months
3-Name: LSP, Female, 21 years old


In addition, according to a report from the police, the younger girls had gone there looking for work because they needed to earn money for their families, but they were badly treated by the couple, who kept them locked up, insulted them, and forced them to have sex with the customers at the KTV.
The three girls will be reunited with their families.

If the competent authorities are serious, Lock the owners up with a REAL sentence to send a message to the others.

It's anyone's guess what goes on in the majority of KTVs, like those massive blocks with no windows. Not likely to get raided though with big money involved.
