Just Your Bad Luck

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Just Your Bad Luck

Post by newkidontheblock »

Credit to the missus for this interesting tidbit.

Chief of Police of Takeo in an interview about the rash of rocks being thrown at cars, commented that it was just the drivers’ bad luck. Not the fault of criminals. Just the driver’s luck to have their cars just arrive at the point impact.

Now the media is all abuzz about whether drivers need to have them and their cars blessed before approaching intersections where rock throwing has occurred.

In other news, thieves stole 6 peacocks from an old grandma. Grandma appealed to Iron Man, who said they need to be returned. Grandma got her 20 peacocks back.

Aren’t peacocks considered good luck? Drivers could put a peacock in their car as well as have a blessing. Could work.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

This kind of thinking reminds me of being told, not long after moving to Cambodia, that a common perception amongst some Khmers when something bad happens to foreigners is "if you hadn't have moved here in the first place it wouldn't have happened".

I have to clue as to the validity of this.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

I've also heard the "if you hadn't of moved here this wouldn't of happened"

No shit Sherlock, a lot of things wouldn't happen if people simply didn't do anything.

Rather akin to the Middle East where inshallah attitude reigns, and if an accident involves an infidel, it’s automatically the fault of the infidel for being there, and not the will of aforementioned omnipotent-incompetent.
