Cambodia News, (Siem Reap Province): On March 1, 2023, according to the publication of the Apsara Authority, nets are being set up to prevent bats from clinging to some places on the roof of Angkor Wat.

Mr. Soy Sophearin, in-charge of conservation work at Angkor Wat, the Department of Temple Conservation and Archeology of the APSARA Authority, said that the team has already set up nets to deter bats at Angkor Wat, such as in Ruot Bakan and other temples of Angkor Wat.
But recently it was observed that the west gate of Angkor Wat has a lot of bats coming to live there, and they urinate and defecate, making the temple smell unpleasant to tourists, so it was decided to install more nets.

It should be noted that a total of 160 square meters of nets will be installed, and the work is expected to be completed in March 2023.
