Cambodia News, (Takeo Province): On February 21, 2023, there was a case of the police arresting the police, reported by Ang Prasat Administrative Police Station, after a 54-year-old male resident of Lontak village, Kirivong District, Ang Prasat commune, filed a complaint for the rape of a minor against a traffic police officer at the Takeo Provincial Police Commission.

Nem Muong, who is the child's guardian and grandfather, told police that on 17 February the suspect raped his 13-year-old granddaughter at a guesthouse at the Waterfall Resort in Kirivong District, but that she didn't tell him about it until February 20, 2023. But the very next day, after hearing what his granddaughter told him, he filed a complaint against the suspect for the rape of a minor with the Kirivong district authorities, asking them to intervene immediately.

The traffic officer, accused of raping a minor, has been detained and he is being questioned by the Kirivong District Police Inspectorate who are preparing the case to go to court.
