Border passes

Post by Funflyer »

Does anyone know if border passes are being issued for Cambodian citizens to cross the border into Thailand from Poipet to work at the border market in Thailand or do they have to use their passports?

They can request day passes from the local authorities. In and out on the same day. No need for a passport if they use day passes.
Info based on a friend's experience in Oddar Meanchey province.

^this. The day passes have restrictions ie. Timings, limited distance they are permitted to travel from the border, etc. They can also be issued to those who are going for medical treatment, shopping, etc. They are only issued to Cambodians who live within a certain distance of the border.
