Cambodia News, Stung Treng: On February 14, 2023, eight people traveled in a small boat with 8 people from Koh Kei village, crossing the Mekong River. going to the market in Stung Treng. Unfortunately, the boat took on water and sank during the crossing, and although four people escaped, the four others went missing.

Then, on the afternoon of February 15, 2023, after searching the river all day for the four missing passengers, the authorities found a dead body floating about 400 meters down the lower reaches of the river. The body was found this afternoon in the stretch of the Mekong situated in Koh Sneng commune, Borey O'Svay Sen Chey district near Stung Treng.

The other three people, a woman and two young children, have not yet been found and are presumed to have drowned. The missing passengers are Mey Sokry, female, 25 years old, Loy Chantrea, male, 8 years old, and Loy Hat, male, 6 years old.
