Social Morality and Women's Values Promotion Encouraged
AKP Phnom Penh, February 04, 2023 --
Minister of Women's Affairs has called for a joint effort by all stakeholders to help further promote Cambodia's social morality and women's values.
The Minister H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, who is also the President of National Committee for Promotion of Social Morality, Women, and Khmer Families Values, made the call in the committee's annual meeting here in Phnom Penh on Feb. 2.
Promoting social morality and women and Khmer families values is multidisciplinary task to change the attitude and mindset of people from all walks of life, said H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi.
It demands a high commitment and participation from all players to solve the social inactivity to promote Cambodia's dignity.
The minister lauded the committee's hard work in collaboration with ministries-institutions at both national and sub-national levels, competent and local authorities, civil society organisations and development partners since 2016.
The committee has significantly contributed to promoting the respect of the rights of humans, women, children, people with disabilities and other vulnerable people in society by promoting law and addressing discrimination and abuses, she added.
In 2022, the committee's secretariat working group completed the technical aspect of the draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote social morality and women and families values.
The SOPs is a mechanism and work plan to accelerate the efficiency in implementing the work, especially through online platform and with new technology.
