Dec 22 - they dug up the road and put major deep drains - 3km of Kampot province then all the way to the white horse roundabout in Kep. Took them about 8 days for over 10km. Now they have widened the road in preparation for concrete?

Last lot - Dec 29
Now pumping sand to the beach next to mangroves. The private pier has been extended another 100m. There are some massive estates being developed along here.
Fast work

The pier & building under construction in the latest picture is a cafe & restaurant, which is part of big hotel resort also under build. Here is the render of it:
Re: The Kep Revival
Most of the big old trees lining the 'old' Kep beach have been trimmed or cut down to make way for an unshaded sidewalk upgrade and uninterrupted views of a beachfront resort development.

Re: The Kep Revival
truly sad:
Kep was never paradise for me, but i had some good memories of this area, visiting daily for over 16 months
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: The Kep Revival
I spent 6 weeks in Kep, i enjoy the biking but it has changed a lot now. They should follow CostaRica and create a protected beach park instead the revival is more of full destruction. At least 3 times i was annoyed for hours by loud party music from resorts near by, they seem to have no respect for other people. The sketchy foreigners running guesthouses and resorts need to be avoided. Local people are miserable too. A lot of unhappy or hostile looks. Dust, garbage everywhere. I don't think they want foreign tourists in Kep at all.

I totally agree. However they will soon be replaced by massive palm trees. Those ones were too French/ deciduous for the exotic new era.truffledog wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:45 pm Whoever ordered the cutting of the trees is a complete idiot.
