High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: At 5:30 pm on January 21, 2023, along Preah Norodom Street, next to the end of the flyover at the north end of the road in Tonle Bassac, Chamkarmon district, a Rolls Royce car driven down from the flyover at high speed hit a Ford Ranger (Phnom Penh 2BH-6767), which was turning left at the traffic light, causing damage to both vehicles.
Sources at the scene said that while the Ford appeared to be traveling at a moderate speed, the Rolls Royce was speeding and did not slow down when it drove off the flyover in a south to north direction and collided with the Ford.
Fortunately, neither driver was hurt in the accident, but the two parties at the scene were unable to agree on a compensation settlement. Therefore, the local authorities of the Tonle Bassac Sangkat Administrative Police Station contacted the city traffic department to come down to record the two vehicles, and took them away for storage for the time it takes for the two men negotiate an agreement.

Re: High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
That looks like fibreglass?
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
There appears to be some aftermarket stuff that is fiberglass. As far as I can tell, the new panels are Aluminum. Rolls Royce has been using the aluminum space frame for the body construction for the past few years, which it calls the "Architecture of Luxury".
Happy to be corrected as I am not a huge car aficionado.
Re: High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
That is fiberglass. How could the front quarter panel/headlight be exchanged for "aftermarket stuff"? Nope. Fiberglass is fiberglass. Maybe further back there's some aluminum...
Actually, a lot of exotic car makers have used fiberglass in the past, but usually they are sports car makes like Lamborghini, etc...

Rolls Royce have used carbon fiber parts in recent models like the Cullinan. However this just looks like a backstreet repair job.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

If you're a true Rolls owner and a real baller.....you should have the $juice$ to make this go away on the spot and be having your ballbag tongued by your 18 year old mistress in the master bedroom of your luxury penthouse suite two hours later and never having a second thought of it. As your car gets immaculately repaired and delivered back to you a week later.
Not demean yourself by haggling with some hoi polloi Ford Ranger owner.

I can assure you there are no traffic lights here.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:50 pm a Rolls Royce car driven down from the flyover at high speed hit a Ford Ranger (Phnom Penh 2BH-6767), which was turning left at the traffic light

Re: High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
Rolls Royces of the modern era are just overpriced BMW's
Anyhow the reason that it has fiberglass wings is that, if a RR is crash damaged and RR hear about it; if they don't repair it themselves (hideously expensive, even for a person who can afford a RR) they will have it written off wherever it is so that it can only be sold for parts
They do this to protect their brand, but if you ask me it's disgusting behavior on behalf of a manufacturer and ofc nobody in their right mind is going to allow their roller be written off because of a little fender bender so they buy replica panels made from fiberglass or composite materials instead.
tl;dr - never buy a RR

Re: High-Speed Rolls Royce Flies Off Flyover
Sound advice. I was just looking at buying a Roller on a 20-year payment plan, but the odds of driving a RR in Cambodia without a prang for 20 years are not so good.
I might buy a tractor instead. They seem to do well in accidents here and I could afford the repairs.
