scam e mails

Post by 2sevensclash »

I haven't had one for years I received this yesterday. Why is it not possible for a programme that you can use to reply that sends thousands of replies and overwhelms this persons mailbox ?

-------------------------------------------------------------

Kind regards

My name is Mrs. Tiril Freydis Brundtland. I am from Norway. I need your
help for a charity work, I am sending you this message with heavy tears in
my eyes and great sorrow in my heart, and also pray that this reaches you
in good health, of which I have suffered for a long time cancer, I was
married to my husband, the late Mr. Jo Benkow Brundtland, a politician who
died in the year 2013, He owned a small oil business in South Korea, when
he was alive, he deposited the sum of € 8,500,000 Eight million, five
hundred thousand euros in a bank in Brussels, the capital of Belgium in
Europe. This money is the sales of his business and death benefit and
entitlements from my deceased husband from his business.

I have decided to donate this money in support of helping
Motherless babies/disadvantaged/widows and mostly for cancer patients, as I
am dying and have been diagnosed with cancer about 3 years now. I've
decided to donate this as what I have inherited from my late husband to you
for the good work of Almighty God; I will be undergoing another surgery
soon. So I need your urgent reply to know if you can carry out this
project, so that I Will give you more information on how the funds will be
transferred to your bank account.

Thank you
Mrs. Tiril Freydis Brundtland

Think of someone that you really dislike. Add some plausible introductory text ahead of the original article/text.
Forward the email to said disliked person and BCC the original sender.

Then close your account.

To the scammer
Tips for scammers. 3/5 for trying.***

:thumb: Excellent. Firstly, I am pleased to see that it has been noted that the Nigerian prince scam has had its moment, so we have moved on to a trustworthy Norwegian. Smart thinking; Norway is at the top of the least corrupt country list.
The motherless babies are good, but the cancer is depressing, so better find some other reason why you want to send millions of euros to this person. Since the message is supposedly from a Norwegian, what about if you said that by some lucky chance you have seen this person's name on the list for the next Nobel Prize, and so obviously they would be a worthy choice ?

This is only a suggestion on how to improve your technique, but IMO the Korean oil well, the bank account in Brussels, and the fact that your late husband is a politician, all sound a bit suspect. Also forget the Lord Jesus stuff if you are writing to Europeans. It just makes you seem a little unhinged.

Please send all your money to my bank account asap because I am overdrawn.
Kind regards,
HRH Prince Andrew of Buckingham Palace :tophat:

The go-to source for dealing with these parasites. Some great pictures that people made them pose for.

p.s. Is this racist?

I unwittingly played along a Filipino scanner ten years ago. I was friends on some MS messaging app with a Filipina who I had met and been with for a few weeks a while back. I was bored and in the West when a message from her popped up. I was delighted to chat with her. She wanted me to open my camera. I asked her to do likewise but she said her camera was broken. Then after 5 minutes of chat, she wanted to see my genitalia. I had no intention of doing that but I was enjoying the chat so I strung her along talking about the Philippines for a long while. I thought it was a bit odd that she was so keen to see my privates but I never thought it was an impersonator. Finally, afrer about 30 minutes he gave up and hung up.

When I next saw the lady, I asked her about our weird conversation and she explained she used an Internet cafe and the owner had her password.

Later I read about the scam (unique to the Philippines I think) which leads to blackmail of the lonely sucker who bared all and it caused many suicides.

Absolutely.
It’s also why I never click on links in threads when the author has done nothing other than that, when they could have done more, such as:
-cut and paste an excerpt of the text to demonstrate what the link is about.
-added some preamble of their own to describe what/why, as a précis.

From emails, unless it’s an email that I’m actually expecting, from a source that is already in contact, it just gets binned, and the email address blocked.
