Yi Sang Riverside
Next to Chak Tomuk Theater (used to be the old Tourist Information Center)
Service 5/5
Food 4/5
Value for money 4/5
Ambience 4/5
I have walked and run past this restaurant 30+ times since I am here as it is between the hotel and downtown. I knew it was a restaurant but had no idea exactly what sort of restaurant. There is no sign on the river side and only a sign for the World Toilet Association (I did not know there was such a thing) on the side facing the road. Turns out it is a Dim Sum restaurant, and not a bad one at that.
Most Dim Sums are USD 5.00 per portion. Portion size is a little stupid when ordering for 2 or 4 people as almost all dishes come with three pieces. The Dim Sum were all quite good with what were obviously fresh ingredients. They also came out piping hot.
Service was fast and very friendly though I still cringe at being called "brother" by total strangers. The place is pleasant to sit; we sat outside, enjoying the view of elderly foreigners walking by topless.
The seafood fried rice was very nice but the portion was a little small.
Overall a pleasant experience and I am very likely to be back. Scratch the very like, I will be back as the restaurant is 3 minutes' walk away.
