It’s so nice - till it’s not!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What is it with all the foreigners sitting on benches along the Riverside? Not the tourists taking a breather, but all the elderly men that seem to be spending most of the day there?
Just spending some time in the sun between posting on CEO?

Three worm-eaten old grandpas
On a very old mossy bench
Were talking about the rain and the weather.

"The ground here is very hard"
Arthur said
"Even crows fly upside down
To not see misery"

"And your sister she flies the right way up ?"
replied the Prosper
"A bird must hover straight
It's marked in the dictionary"

"Suddenly I throw my cap
Suddenly I'm going to fetch it back"
Dropped the Dédé
"There are the ones who laugh when they fart
And those whom the onion makes cry"

Three old twisted branches
On a very old mossy bench
Chatting each other to get some wind

"There is no love that lasts"
Arthur said
"It puts your heart in disarray
Love is not always Sunday "

"So you didn't know the Lulu ?"
replied the Prosper
"You always see everything austere
Try remember her chubby bottom"

"Love is a bit of a galley
But it's good to row in there"
Dropped the Dédé
"Love is just a bitter hair
It's kind of a sour candy"

Three old bandits still hairy
Between the green and the hoary
The French Cancan was told
There was Arthur
There was the Dédé
There was the Prosper

"Life is nothing like jam"
Arthur said
"It's hard
Sometimes I'll eat my hat"

"You sleep like you do your litter"
replied the Prosper
"Rather than work on your visor
Just munch some camembert ^^"

"It's not that I'm bored, but I'm bored stiff now"
Said the Dédé
"Hey
You're pissing me off, I'm going home for supper"

Three old grandpas under a plane tree
Both hands on the handle of the cane
The only pépé was the Dédé
Hey
The two pépéres were the Arthur
Arthur and Prosper
Oyere
Three old grandpas
Three grandpas were chatting
Chatting each other to get some wind...

Tonight I saw a French man selling crepes on the Riverside. Also saw two Jehova witnesses trying their luck with some of those foreigners. Didn’t stick around to see how that panned out.

It's as fair as having an American selling burgers, or a Khmer selling prahok.
Why not stick around awaitng the Jeovah clash while munching a French specialty ?
A sweet bite and a free show isn't that bad

Yes, and they're exporting now.
More to come to feed the pigeons, so more pigeons to come too !
Riverside being Riverside, this won't end well
