I am back!!!
Re: I am back!!!
Well I went to high school in Germany, and our favorite restaurant nearby the school had schnitzel with gravy, which was wildly popular with us, precisely because it was so uncommon. Then there's Jägerschnitzel of course, which is quite literally drowned in mushroom gravy wherever it's on the menu.hanno wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 10:34 am After having had a beer at Harry's a couple of times, I finally ate there last night. Foodwise, I would make pretty much the same comments I did about the food at Larry's: decent food but not spectacular, portions are huge, and, just like Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu does NOT come with gravy in the civilized world.
So I wouldn't hold serving gravy with schnitzel against them, considering that they have the good sense to keep it separate, for you to decide if (and how much) you want to use.

Re: I am back!!!
Fair, but I do not like Jaegerschnitzel much either. ANd yes, the gravy at Harry's was not bad and went well with the fries. I just do not like breaded items becoming soggy.Alex wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:20 pmWell I went to high school in Germany, and our favorite restaurant nearby the school had schnitzel with gravy, which was wildly popular with us, precisely because it was so uncommon. Simple solution for ziegeunerschnitzel and similar: serve the sauce on the sidehanno wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 1:15 pmFair, but I do not like Jaegerschnitzel much either.
