Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A police officer who was meeting his mistress at her room in Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, was tracked down by his wife, who had hired a detective. The wife, who is living in Kandal, went to the woman's room to intervene, but the mistress and the husband fled the scene at around 12:30am on the 6th January 2023.

Her husband, Prak Sopheara, a 36-year-old man, is a police officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel at the Royal Academy. His wife is Sok Thavry, 29, and the couple have a little girl together. The other woman was not identified.

According to the wife, the two of them were not getting along well recently, with the husband often causing family conflicts and violence and staying out all night. She became suspicious, so she hired someone to monitor her husband and found out that he had a girlfriend and that he was parking his car with a police license plate outside her place when he stayed the night.


After receiving this information from the detective, that night, the wife took her daughter in a rented car from her hometown in Kandal to Phnom Penh to look for her husband, and sure enough, when she knocked on the door, she found her husband sleeping with his mistress. The woman was upset and shouted insults, and the couple then had a loud dispute which woke up all the neighborhood, with the husband trying to get his wife to leave by threatening her with violence, before making a quick getaway with his mistress.

The wife has said that she will file a complaint with the police against her husband.
