Alan Hoff Hospitalised. Anyone Know Him?

Post by CatBurglar »

Image

Alan Hoff who I believe is English has recently been hospitalised in Calmette Hospital.

He has had a stroke. He is now conscious but sleeping a lot.

I believe he is in his late 70s.

He used to sit in E-Supermarket in Daun Penh everyday with his laptop.

Does anyone know this expat and does he have family here (or anywhere)?

Alternatively, are there any friends of his on this forum?

Perhaps someone could suggest the best course of action to help him.

He doesn't appear to have any resources at all.

Worth a try, although I think many will say they might not do much to help.

The British embassy will repatriate people if there is no family who can pay for an air-ticket, they take your passport when you get to customs in the UK and keep it until you pay back the airfare. But i am not sure about a medical repatriation as that costs a lot of money

Just saw his photo. I have had a few nice chats with Alan.

Unfortunately, I don't know any contact details/names. Didn't even know his last name until now.
But I believe he mentioned having a son in the UK.

Have been in touch with the British Embassy.

They have visited him and are trying to contact family members in England.

I was uncomfortable putting up the photo but needs must.

Thanks for your suggestions and concern.

As I said I am not sure about "medical" repatriation.
