I have a friend who has been married* to two women for 20+ years. I first met them in 2007 when they were living on Batam. Their children are now grown up. They are all Europeans.
He is exceptional in his field so can afford it. But what makes him more exceptional is his emotional intelligence and the relationship skills he presumably shares with his wives.
The chains of wedlock are so heavy that it takes two to carry them, sometimes three - Dumas fils.
*I have no idea how they organised the legality of their partnership. Possibly with a three-way mirror will / tontine.
