1 Dead and 24 Cambodian Workers Injured in Thai Truck Accident
Cambodia News (THAILAND): On 17 December 2022, at least one of 25 Cambodian fruit pickers was killed in an accident on the way to a longan plantation to pick fruit in Chanthaburi province, Thailand. The accident happened at 6:27 am, on National Road 317 in Pak Tong Commune, Soy Dao District, Chanthaburi Province, when the truck that was carrying the 25 Cambodian workers overturned, possibly due to a broken front wheel or flat tire.
Based on the sheriff's inspection at the accident scene, it was observed that one Cambodian worker was killed on the spot, and 10 people were seriously injured,while 14 others escaped with light injuries. The victims have now been sent to an emergency ward at Soy Dao District Hospital.
