Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey): On 17 December 2022, Poipet City Police sent a male murder suspect to the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Prosecutor's Office for interrogation and further legal action. He was arrested and taken into custody by police on 15 December 2022, at Tumnup K5 Village, Sangkat-Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.


According to the police investigators, the killer admitted that, in a fit of jealousy, he used a knife to repeatedly stab his girlfriend until she was dead. He killed her because he was angry that she had fallen in love with another woman.
According to Poipet City Police, the suspect was a 39-year-old man named Hong Hean, living at the above address in Banteay Meanchey Province, where he committed the murder on 15 December 2022. The victim was 29 years old Ry Roeung from Toul Prom village, Kor Koh commune, Maung Russey district, Battambang province.

The suspect is currently being questioned at the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Prosecutor's Office.
