Maybe you are right about the three years... The press reports are pretty muddy and inconsistent. This one says it will come into effect after 3 years...

Maybe it won't pass, I've been wanting to visit Jakarta but this would take away any nighttime fun. Kuala Lumpur was a nice place last time I was there, hope this silly idea does not spread to Malaysia.

Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Gov’t Says Extramarital Sex Cannot be Prosecuted Without Request

BY :HERU ANDRIYANTO

DECEMBER 10, 2022

Jakarta. The Indonesian government on Saturday clarified a controversial article of the newly-enacted Criminal Code that bans sexual intercourse outside of marriage, saying the stipulation regulates extramarital sex which can be prosecuted only on request.

The clarification came after the specific article drew criticisms from rights groups and was reported widely by international media, raising concerns about its impacts on the country’s tourism industry.

Tourists won't be charged under Indonesia's new sex laws, governor says
Those who "visit or live in Bali would not need to worry with regard to the entry into force of the Indonesian Criminal Code", Indonesia's governor says.

Visitors to Bali will not be put at risk by Indonesia's newly ratified criminal code, the island's governor says, dismissing concerns that revised laws which include articles criminalising sex outside marriage may scare away tourists from its shores.

Indonesia's parliament last week passed the controversial bill that also prohibits cohabitation between unmarried couples.

Seeking to reassure visitors, Bali Governor Wayan Koster in a statement on Sunday noted the new laws, which come into affect in three years, could only be prosecuted if there was complaint by a parent, spouse or child.
