Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On December 16, 2022, a 41-year-old American man, accused of having sex with a 14-year-old Cambodian boy, had his sentence confirmed by the Supreme Court to 7 years imprisonment.

SHAUN EARI ROBINSON was arrested on 21 August, 2019, in Sala Kamroeuk Village, Siem Reap City, Siem Reap Province, and was sentenced by the Siem Reap Provincial Court on March 18, 2020 to seven years in prison for buying child prostitution under Articles 23 and 34 of the Law on the Suppression of Human Trafficking. He was arrested at the behest of a Cambodian woman, the mother of a 14-year-old boy, S.C.N.

Police say that the American man had sexual intercourse with several Cambodian boys in the perpetrator's rented room in Sala Kamroeuk village, Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province, during 2019, and he is accused of forcing the 14-year-old victim to have anal sex in exchange for $ 25.

According to the police interview, the boy said he was begging around the Old Market and he asked a foreign man for money. He went with the man to his rented room, where he was engaged in a sex act and slept there one night. The American man then gave him $ 25 and took him back home.
