3-day Angkor Remembrance Festival will begin on December 14
The Government has announced the annual Angkor Remembrance Festival will be held at the Angkor World Heritage Site for three days from December 14-16.

According to a notification issued yesterday by Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona, the APSARA Authority will be in charge of the event, including fixing daily programmes, venue, budget, etc.

As the organiser, the APSARA Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, must disseminate the information related to the festival worldwide, and promote it especially among the Cambodian youth to participate in the festival that aims to preserve national heritage.

Angkor Thom Charity Night for Children's Hospital on 16 December
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 26 November 2022, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts announced that it will organize a charity night in the center of Angkor Thom at Bayon Temple to raise funds for Kantha Bopha Hospital.

The Gala Charity Night Dinner will be held in the center of Angkor Thom at Bayon Temple with the beautiful Brahma Temple view, where visitors can attend the charity night and eat delicious food while enjoying ancient Khmer art and culture.
All in one: Feast yourself, explore Khmer culture, and do a good deed !

This event will be held on Friday, 16 December 2022 at 6:30 pm at Bayon Temple. All funds raised by the Charity Night Event will be used to help children who are being treated at Kantha Bopha Hospital.

Ministry of Culture to Hold “Memorial Night 2022” in Siem Reap Next Week

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in collaboration with Siem Reap provincial administration and APSARA National Authority will organise the “Memorial Night 2022” on Dec. 14. 

The spectacular cultural event, to be held at the eastern compound of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province from 17:00, is aimed to mark the 30th anniversary of the inscription of Angkor Archeological Park on the UNESCO World Heritage List, said the ministry in an announcement issued this evening.

The “Memorial Night 2022” will showcase a variety of art forms, ranging from Lakhon Sbek Thom (big shadow puppet), Lkhon Khol (Cambodian classical masked theatre) to Chapei Dang Veng (Cambodian two-stringed, long-necked guitar) and Kun Lbokator (Cambodian traditional martial art), will be performed with the participation of nearly 300 artists.

No way can the ordinary person, Khmer or Foreigner, afford such prices. It puts charity giving firmly in the hands of the rich, not the ordinary person.

Beat Ritchey (RIP) hosted many charity drives with much lower donation levels so the ordinary person could contribute.

APSARA Authority organizes exhibition booth at 2022 Angkor Thanksgiving

Siem Reap: In commemoration of Angkor, held from 14 to 16 December 2022, APSARA Authority has organized a three-day exhibition of achievements in front of Angkor Wat.



This non-permanent exhibition showcases the great achievements of the APSARA Authority over the past 30 years on a number of important tasks in the conservation and sustainable development of Angkor historical sites, such as the preservation of ancient temples, archeological research and training.

The three-day exhibition, from December 14 to 16, 2022, is free and is open to students, researchers,and national and international tourists, who wish to learn about the conservation and management of the Angkor resort area.

At the Charity Night organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts on December 16, 2022, at the Bayon Temple in Siem Reap, more than US $ 80,000 (US $ 82,703) was donated to Kantha Bopha Hospital through a dinner and various performing arts performances.
