Cambodia's First National Tourism School Launched in Phnom Penh

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 24 November 2022, His Excellency Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and High Representative of Samdech Techo HE, Prime Minister of Cambodia, presided over the Krong Pali ceremony before the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the first National Tourism School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The National Vocational School of Tourism in Phnom Penh will consist of 2 buildings, with 2 floors at the front and 4 floors at the back. Planned facilities include: classrooms, offices, lecture hall, computer room, meeting room, model rooms for hotel, food and beverage services, and also travel and tourism services.

When the construction of the school building is completed, the school plans to accept 300 students to enroll in tourism vocational courses and other courses for the 2024-2025 school year.
The National School of Tourism Vocational Training will launch four major tourism vocational training programs, including:
(1) Hotel and Tourism Services,
(2) Food and Beverage Services,
(3) Travel Services,
(4) Advanced Tourism Services to Level 3 students.
The school will offer 1 year courses, Advanced Diplomas, 2 years courses, and will also supply training courses. There will be an assessment center established in accordance with national and ASEAN standards.

The Royal Government of Cambodia plans to build two professional national tourism schools, one in Phnom Penh and one in Sihanoukville, with a total budget of 11 million euros, with a loan from the French Agency for Development (AFD).
