New medical visa from 1 Jan

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

New medical visa from 1 Jan

Post by armchairlawyer »

The BP seems to be blocking cut and pasting so you'll have to click on the link to read it. Basically 1 year multi entry, can stay for 90 days, cost 5000 baht, includes the patient and 3 companions, must have 800k baht cash, includes cosmetic treatment.

".....cosmetic treatment." sex reassignment??

More important must have a health condition thailand cant treat and requires more than 90 day treatment AND insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000

BUT must not only report to immigration BUT also leave the country ever 90 days???

Wont be an easy visa to qualify unless your cancer patient or have some serious debilitating Illness

Goes without saying that this is for those UNDR 50 that cant qualify for a retirement extension of which one also needs 8000,000 in the bank OR a pension of over 65,0000/month but does not need leave the country at all ever

Much ado about nothing, although nice you can bring family members with ya
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

As always with new Thai "schemes", it's best to wait for the details to emerge. This new visa might be a great thing or completely unusable for most, there's really no way to tell.

For let's say a weed addict under 50 who doesn't currently qualify for any other non-immigrant visa, it might turn out to be half decent.
