Cambodia News (Kandal): On 16 November 2022, the specialized police force sent Mr. Sok Sopha, former clerk of Sangkat Takhmao, Takhmao City, to the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for interrogation after officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation in the evening of 14 November 2022, following his arrest for the embezzlement of KHR70 million from the cash subsidy program for poor and vulnerable families during the fight against Covid-19.
Authorities confirmed that the clerk of Takhmao commune had irregularly used 18 cards, taking money for personal expenses
from the cash subsidy program for poor and vulnerable families during the fight against Kovid-19 disease.

Mr. Chhour Sopanha, the Royal Government Delegate in charge of the Director General of the National Social Assistance Fund, immediately ordered the police to arrest the Sangkat Clerk and send him to the Kandal Provincial Police Office of Minor Offenses for processing.
