Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On the morning of 15 November 2022, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Dr. Pheung Sakona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, received Mr. Xie Xudong, General Director of Zhong Fang International Investment Company of the People's Republic of China who informed the Minister of their intention to run a film production project relating to the history of Cambodia and China in the 13th century in the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Minister welcomed the proposed historical film shooting in the Kingdom of Cambodia which would be beneficial to the promotion of Cambodia, especially in the field of culture and tourism.
In addition, in order to facilitate the producers, the Minister asked the company to provide detailed essays for the Ministry's working group to study and request a face-to-face meeting between the producers, directors and professional officials of the Ministry to ensure that the film contains a historically accurate content.
The Minister affirmed that attracting foreign filmmakers to film in the Kingdom of Cambodia is a priority of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, which is a national policy on culture.
