Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): The driver of a Ford car was sent to court today, on the morning of 15 November 2022, by the traffic police of Phnom Penh, charged with causing an accident, where he crashed into a police motorcycle and knocked it over on the morning of 12 November 2022.
This collision between a Ford and a police officer's motorcycle occurred at Wat Phnom Dragon Bridge in Wat Phnom, Daun Penh, when a convoy of vehicles were carrying foreign delegates during the ASEAN Summit.
According to Colonel San Sok Seiha, spokesman for the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, the accident was a normal accident and not one intended to upset the delegation, because at the time of the accident, the traffic policeman was on his way to the airport to escort another convoy into the city.

Please note that according to the Article 81 of the Road Traffic Law, anyone who does not obey the orders of the competent officer to protect the procession, delegation or senior leaders and causes damage to the vehicle of the convoy is punishable by 1 to 6 months imprisonment and may be fined from KHR800,000 (Eight Hundred Thousand) to KHR 40,000,000 (Forty Million).
