Cambodia News (Kampong Chhnang): An explosion set fire to three houses at 10:20 am on 14 November 2022 in Chhnuk Trou village, in Kampong Chhnang province.
Saing Kim Sorn, chief of Chhnuk Trou commune, said that the owner of the first house was 50-year-old Bun Narith alias Hong, while the second owner is Sang Doy and the third owner is not known yet.

These houses are the houses of the people who live on a flood plain by the bank of the river, and are built next to each otherl, but those houses are flooded during the rainy season. Of the three houses, two were completely destroyed by fire, and the other one was 50% burnt.
Firefighters were unable to intervene efficiently, because the houses were on flood plains and fire trucks could not reach them safely.

At the time of the incident, the neighbours took about 20 water pumps to help prevent the fire from spreading to other houses.
The source said that the fire was caused by the explosion of a gas canister, belonging to one of the owners who is a a gas and general grocery goods seller.
