Cambodia News (Battambang Province): On 11 November 2022, the Battambang Provincial Police announced the arrest of a man suspected of throwing an axe into the windshield of a semi-trailer truck that was driving along the national road in Phnom Sampov commune, Battambang province.
The incident happened on 10 November 2022, at 9:30 pm, when an unidentified suspect threw an axe into the passing trailer and broke part of its windshield. Immediately, the truck driver informed the police, who on orders of Major General Sat Kimsan, Commissioner of the Battambang Provincial Police, conducted an immediate investigation into the attack.

On the morning of 11 November 2022, the Banan district police arrested the 32-year-old suspect Koy Kosal, alias Vith, who was from Phnom Sampov Lech village, Banan district, Battambang province. He is currently being interrogated at the Banan District Police Inspectorate.

According to the initial confession, the suspect confessed to the authorities that he was the one who threw the axe into the truck that night, because his wife had run away recently, and he was heartbroken and drunk with alcohol.
Despite the terrible heartbroken condition of the suspect, the authorities are preparing a case to be sent to court against the ax-thrower, because his attack on the truck could have been fatal to the driver.
