Man Beheads Priest Accused of Witchcraft
Cambodia News, (Prey Veng Province): On 11 November 2022, the Investigating Judge of Prey Veng Provincial Court ordered the detention of a man accused of murdering an 85-year-old achar [type of lay priest ] on November 8, 2022 in Wat Ind Chakrei (called Wat Sralong) in village Srolong II, Angkor Tret Commune, Svay Antor District, Prey Veng Province.
According to the pre-trial detention order of the Prey Veng Provincial Court Investigating Judge, the accused was named Su Chak, male, 53 years old, living in the same village.
The accused is charged by the court prosecutors with "murder" under Article 199 of the Penal Code, after he went in the sleeping quarters at the pagoda and cut off the head of the sleeping man with an ax. The killer claimed that the achar was practising withcraft.
The accused man was arrested by the police on November 8, 2022 at his house in the village and the ax was confiscated.

The kid does not seem phased.
