Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 10:20 pm on October 27, 2022, several gunshots were fired in the street, along Street 456 in Sangkat Toul Tum Poung, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh. Local people called the police, who came to intervene and arrested a foreign man.

According to sources from the people living at the scene, shortly after 10pm last night, they suddenly heard the sound of gunfire coming from the street. In this case, it is not clear how many shots were fired; some people claimed that there were 3 bullets and others said that there were 6 bullets.

After hearing the explosion, the residents saw the man walking away from the scene. But the police soon intervened and arrested the man suspected of causing the explosion and took him to the police station for interrogation.

Further details: According to a man who asked not to be named, he first saw a foreign man walking with a bag on Route 456 from east to west when he stopped in front of 168 BBQ World, pulled out a pistol and fired several shots at the sky, surprising the neighbors.

After shooting, the foreign man walked into a shop, and within minutes, the Chamkar Mon District Armed Forces came and tackled him to the ground and immediately arrested him.

It should be noted that although many shots were fired at the scene, no one was injured. The motive for the shooting remains unclear.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A Taiwanese Chinese man was sent to court by the Phnom Penh Military Police on the morning of October 31, 2022, following a shooting incident at 23:30 on October 27, 2022, in front of "Vida Vida" car repair garage, house No. 452, Street 456, located in Sangkat Toul Tompong 1, Khan Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh.

The suspect is HSIEH HO TING, a 37-year-old Taiwanese businessman living in a condominium in Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh. The representative of the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance opened an investigation into the illegal possession of a firearm.
According to the suspect's answer, which the police submitted to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court: "Before the incident, he (HSIEH HO TING) went to collect money from a Taiwanese 'friend', a car repair worker at Vida Vida garage, who borrowed $US15K from him about 4 months ago.

That evening, the suspect went to the garage to discuss the debt, but the friend refused to leave with him, so he pulled out the gun and fired it 6 times into the sky as a threat.
Thre Taiwanese suspect told police that he only had the pistol in his possession because a friend left it with him for safe-keeping while he was away.
After the incident, local police arrived in Chamkar Mon district and arrested the suspect, confiscating 1 short, black GLOCK 30 handgun and six bullets.
