According to the Pailin City Police, firstly, Yan Vor had an argument with his wife because the sausages were burning and the house was smelly and smokey. Then, when he found out that his brother-in-law was responsible for the smelly sausages, the suspect jumped up and punched his brother in the nose, causing bleeding.
The wife shouted for help, and Ly Huy, the village guard, came to investigate the sounds of domestic violence at the scene with the burnt sausages, and he tried to calm the suspect. But the angry man then pulled out a machete and hit the guard on the head and arm with the back of the blade, causing the arm and upper part of the head to swell alarmingly.

After the incident, Ly Huy filed a complaint at the administrative police station in Pailin District Office, demanding $ 5,000 as compensation from Yan Vor for his injuries. The suspect was taken to Pailin City Police Inspectorate for questioning.
