This could be quite a spectacle for volleyball fans.

Cambodia to take on powerhouse Cuba in int’l volleyball friendly
The Cambodian Men’s national volleyball team will play against one of the strongest teams in the world in an international friendly match this week.

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) announced that the Cambodian team will play against Cuba on Thursday at the Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh. The match will start at 7pm.

The Cuban and Singaporean national volleyball squads were invited by the Volleyball Federation of Cambodia (VFC) for a series of friendly matches against the home team.

The games are intended to measure the ability of the Cambodian team and give their players more international exposure.

“It will also strengthen the friendship between Cambodia and other countries, especially Cuba and Singapore,” the NOCC pointed out.

The Cambodian team beat the Singaporeans in a three-set thriller at the Prince Stadium three days ago.

The Cambodians won the first set, 25-21. The Singaporeans stormed back into the game, winning the next set, 25-22, to set up the deciding third set.

The Cambodians pulled ahead, 22-18, in the third set, after the Singaporeans committed numerous service errors. The Singaporeans rallied to tie the score, 25-25. But they faltered from there, allowing the Cambodian side to win the decider, 27-25.

Nearly a thousand fans, including several Singaporean nationals, watched the game courtside.

A major volleyball tournament, HE Cup 2022, was also launched during the same occasion.

The tournament involves 11 teams, including Visakha, Ministry of Interior and Phnom Penh Administration.

Is there a Cambodian women's volleyball league?

I'd support that.....and the impossibly small booty shorts they all wear.

Cambodia men’s volleyball national team captain to retire after SEA Games 2023
Mar 06, 2023
Image
The captain of Cambodia men’s volleyball national team, Suon Channaro, will retire from his volleyball career as a player after the 32nd South East Asian (SEA) Games in May. Channaro explained that his decision to retire from volleyball as a player came as he wanted to have more time with his family and was also busy with another career.

Channaro started his volleyball career in 2012 and is now playing for Visakha volleyball club and Cambodia volleyball national team.

He first received the national team call-up in 2015 and has played at SEA Games 3 times in Malaysia in 2017, in the Philippines in 2019 and Vietnam in 2022. He is one of Cambodia’s key players to win bronze medal at SEA Games in Vietnam last year as it is also the first time that Cambodia won medal in volleyball at SEA Games.

I'd like to know why the women have to play volleyball in their underwear, while the guys wear their regular sweat-soaked gym gear. How do they expect to attract hetero-women spectators, men who prefer men, and those people who just like to watch people of either sex playing sport while half-naked ? ("Them"-watchers.) C'mon, this is 2023.
