UK Overseas Passport Application - Time to receive it.
UK Overseas Passport Application - Time to receive it.

I tried to watch this but these middle aged steroid-stuffed twats, opening up the broadcast with their latest bench-pressing exploits, just leaves me cold.
However, at 2:30 they said that a UK Overseas Passport Application is currently taking between 12 and 16 weeks, because "overeases, we get put ta bottom of pile and work our way ooop"
I've heard this before, but I never understood why this is somehow a revelation, because all applications start at the bottom of the pile and work their way up and if local applications get constant priority, as they imply, then overseas would never get dealt with. Secondly, why would the Passport Office care? It doesn't make much sense.
Anyway, this 12-16 week delay is much longer than I have been told by people with direct experience of this.
I am talking about a Renewal, not a lost/stolen or FIRST application, which obviously require far more scrutiny.
12 weeks just works for me, but 16 weeks will be cutting it very fine with my visa renewal and travel plans for February.
I lodged my application at VFS on Monday
Yesterday, Friday 14th, HMPO in Liverpool debited my card. This means they have got it, opened it and have started dealing with it. Sounds promising...
I will update this with developments.

Re: UK Overseas Passport Application - Time to receive it.
A friend of mine put his in for renewal in July and was told it would take 18 weeks, he still hasn't got it.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Do you know if it's early or late July?John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:00 pm A friend of mine put his in for renewal in July and was told it would take 18 weeks, he still hasn't got it.
July is also still holiday season in the UK and I am hoping that this year's summer backlog, with 2 years pent up demand, has been cleared.
I live in eternal hope...
