Cambodia News, (Oddar Meanchey Province): Residents from Samaki Community Forest, Otameng Village, Anlong Veng Commune, Anlong Veng District. Oddar Meanchey Province, were surprized to find a gaur, a very rare species of giant wild cattle, in a plantation near their village. The male gaur was found stuck, trapped in an old dug-out well, no longer in use.

Ron Rith, Otameng village chief, said by telephone on the morning of October 5, 2022 that on the morning of October 4, 2022, residents reported that a male ox had entered the village and chased some children at the intersection in Otameng village, Anlong Veng commune.
So the villagers and environmental officials who were stationed there, chased the gaur into the Prey Prohm Tep Conservation Forest (Prey Saak), where it disappeared.

He immediately reported and sought the intervention of the district military police, district police, forestry administration, the environment, the people and the people to rescue and drag the giant beast out of the pit. Now I know what a Gaur is

Eating it seems a sensible thing to do, as long as the meat is edible
