Post by Shan »

Hello there.

We need help, advice & services concerning our Cambodian/Vietnam overland drive the necessary paperwork to cross the border from Thailand to Kampuchea & Kampuchea & Vietnam. An email address of your contacts in Phnom Penh Penh & Ho Chi Minh City who can help us or you prefer you can forward our email request to them.
We will be driving a Malaysian registered vehicle.
All 3 of us are Malaysian citizens, as such, we do not need any Visa. We request your advice for the various paper work of
1. Insurance in Kampuchea & Vietnam 2. Import /Export form filling up at Thai-Kampuchea & Kampuchea-Vietnam borders 3. Other documents that may be needed by the Kampuchean/Vietnam Customs & Immigration checkpoint at the borders.
We also need to know what charges are for, the filling up of these forms, by agents at the border crossings.
Thank you very much.

There's no charge to bring Malaysian vehicle in here to Cambodia but I do not think that you can easily take it to Vietnam

there only a few borders that will easily let a thai car into Cambodia, so would assume it applies to Malay cars
Hat lek/koh Kong, Pong nam ron/Pailin, Surin /Osmach
your going to need enter Thailand/ exit Thailand with ur temp import doc so need ur cars papers in drivers name. Thailand insurance is available at the borders

Cambodia the 3 entries you just drive in, unless you want to try and deal with Cambodian officials in PP which are not very helpful. CANT buy insurance so drive very carefully

Vietnam you wont get in unless your on a tour or pay for a travel agent to arrange you to enter and it will cost ya a pretty penny
