Cambodia News, (Stung Treng Province): The Serious Crime Bureau of Stung Treng Provincial Police arrested two suspects at midnight on September 26, one in O'Svay village and the other in Rithi Sen Chey 2 village, O'Svay commune, Stung Treng province, in connection with a robbery and murder committed on September 18.

Mr. Va Sophan, Deputy Commissioner for Stung Treng Provincial Serious Crime Plan, said that the two suspects involved in the murder were:
1-Name: Cheat Saro, Male, 18 years old, no occupation.
2-Name: Kong Sam Oeun, Male, 27 years old, uncertain occupation. Both suspects live in Rith Sen Chey 2 Village, O'Svay Commune, Borey O'Svay Senchey District, Stung Treng Province.
According to the suspects, the victim, 19 year old Then Somit, had sold them some useless "counterfeit" drugs, and they were very angry. They ambushed the drug dealer, handcuffed him, beat him to death, and then stole his motorbike.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that after questioning the two suspects as murderers, the police further investigated, and then split the case, because one of the suspects said that he had used drugs with a military police officer and another person, both living in Borey O'Svay Sen Chey district.

The competent authorities continue to search until they arrested the two other suspects, as drug users with the suspected murderers, one of whom was a military police officer from Borey O'Svay Senchey district who was a habitual drug user. They were handed over to the provincial anti-drug office for further action.
Lieutenant Colonel Cham Phanit, director of the provincial anti-drug office, also said that the two suspects were involved in a drug deal with one of the murder suspects.
The director of the office confirmed that the two suspects who were detained by the police were:
1- Pov Veasna, male, 31 years old, a military police officer
2-Name is Chhit Tha, Male, 49 years old, a farmer
It should be noted that at present, the two suspects who are accused of the robbery and murder, because they were angry about the victim selling them fake drugs, have been detained by the court.
As for the other two suspects involved in the drug use case with the accused killers, the police force of the Anti-Drug Office of Stung Treng Provincial Police is questioning and building a case to send them to court.
