Trio (and Baby) Get 4 Years Prison for Drug Offense

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: On the morning of September 27, 2022, the trial judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, Mr. Ros Piseth, announced the sentences of 1 male and 2 female defendants for drug trafficking.
Judge Piseth stated that the three accused, Nget Reth, a 30-year-old female, Nuon Chantrea, a 24-year-old female, and Ngin Chetra, male, 25 years old, were sharing a rented room when they were arrested on January 9, 2022, and charged with drug trafficking . The police confiscated a total of 19.10 grams of methamphetamine from the trio: a little more than 6 grams of drug per person.
As a result, each of the defendents has been sentenced by the court to 4 years in prison.[And unfortunately, it appears that one of the woman defendents has a baby in her charge.]
