Man Starts Road Shooting Rampage Because "Angry with Wife"

Cambodia News, (Kandal): A man on a motorbike fired his pistol several times randomly at passing cars, while driving from Phnom Penh to Ang Snuol district, because he was angry with his wife. This incident happened on September 27, 2022 at 14:30 at the intersection of National Road 4, Monorom Village, Bek Chan Commune, Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province.
The suspect, Nhek Sovutha, alias Sruoch, alias Thach, a 37-year-old Cambodian male social media journalist living in Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, was eventually stopped and taken into custody by Ang Snoul police.

Major General Chhoeun Socheat, Kandal Provincial Police Commissioner, said that the suspect had fired one shot at a 2003 Camry car, with license plate Phnom Penh 2BC-4568, hitting the right front door of the vehicle while driving in Khan Kampol, Phnom Penh.
Then, in Ang Snoul district, Kandal, a white 2001 Highlander, with license plate Phnom Penh 2AD-4931, was hit twice on the lefthand side, once at the back and once at the front. A fourth shot was fired at random by the suspect.

The Police Commissioner also confirmed that at the time of the incident, the Kandal police HQ received an alert from the Bek Chan police station that the above-mentioned suspect was riding a white ADV motorcycle 2021, with license plate Phnom Penh 1JE-3621, while carrying and shooting a handgun. The suspect was arrested at the intersection of National Road 4, Chrey Mongkul Village, Damnak Ampil Commune, Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province, and taken to the Ang Snoul district police station for further questioning.

Police seized a Glock-19 (USA) RTP75555, 1 magazine, 1 bullet, 2 caskets, 1 social media press card and ID information, 1 backpack, 1 luxury car key, and a white ADV motorcycle, 2021, license plate Phnom Penh 1JE-3621.

The suspect admitted to firing off four bullets at innocent people on the drive between Phnom Penh and Ang Snoul.
The man said that he started shooting at cars because he had had a fight with his wife and he was angry.
Fortunately, it seems that nobody was killed.

Official document shows he is just a average rice farmer and the yellow paper records his sales of rice. Nothing to see here, lets move on.

Another piece of evidence for my hypothesis that just about all card carrying journalists in Cambodia are criminal scum, out to exploit situations and blackmail people rather than, you know, report factually on events as they develop
