Hang on a minute. Which bathroom do you use when there is only one, as is often the case in Cambodia ? Does that make you creepy ? (Probably not.)
Toilets and bathrooms in countries outside the US are quite often unisex. Why is this considered dangerous in the US and not elsewhere ?

Unisex bathrooms (where both sexes use the multiple facilities, possibly at the same time) are usually in professional/adults only environments (ie, no children, or very unlikely to be children using the facilities)
Where there are bathrooms for each sex, nobody with a penis should be using the females bathroom.

It is far fetched to see where this heading, if by 'where this is heading' you mean the legalisation and public acceptance of paedophilia.
It was wrong to discriminate against gays because they were consenting adults who should have had the freedom to express their sexualiy in exactly the same way straight people were allowed.
Paedophilia only involves one consenting adult - a child rapist.
I don't think it needs to be explained any more clearer than that.
