6Yo Dies in Fall From Moving Tuk Tuk

Cambodia News (Svay Rieng): (Preliminary information) At 2:34 pm on 24 September 2022, a tragic accident occurred in which a child fell from a tuktuk hitting his head on the road, along National Road 1 in Angkas Dey village, Ta Soul commune, Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province.

Before the incident, a family were on their way to visit the husband’s hometown in Svay Rieng for the Pchum Ben festival. They travelled along National Road 1 from Phnom Penh to Svay Rieng, when halfway into the journey, their 6-year-old boy, who was sleeping covered in a blanket, slipped and fell off the tuk-tuk on to the road. The boy was found dead at the scene.

The local police arrived at the scene, recorded the accident and asked the bystanders for information about the accident. The body of the child was then handed over to the family for a funeral ceremony.
