Big Win for Under 23s

Congratulations to the Cambodian football team for defeating Brunei 6-0, in the Under 23 years old section in AFF U23 CHAMPIONSHIP 2022, which took place yesterday, at 7 pm at the Morotok Techo National Stadium !

Football fans! The AFF U-23 Championship is now on in Phnom Penh, so check out the matches which will be played in the brand new Morodok Techo National Stadium, and as well as at the Prince Stadium.
The young Cambodian team made a spectacular showing for their first match. The first two matches were played on 14 February, (Philippines vs Timor Leste 2-2, and Cambodia vs Brunei 6-0), and the games will go on until February 26.

AFF U-23 Championship kicks off today

One of the biggest and most prestigious football tournaments in Southeast Asia will kick off today in Phnom Penh.

The Asean Football Federation (AFF) U-23 Championship will commence with two matches at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Cambodia’s capital city, according to the latest schedule released by the organisers.

The Philippines will play Timor-Leste starting 4:00pm, while the Cambodian U-23 team will face its counterpart from Brunei at 7:00pm. [Played - results above.]

Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Laos and Myanmar are also competing in the tournament.

Defending champions Indonesia withdrew from the tournament after many of its players and team officials tested positive for Covid-19.

Cambodia is in Group A together with Brunei, Timor-Leste and the Philippines. Group B is composed of Malaysia, Myanmar and Laos, while Group C comprised of Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.

Cambodia will next face the Philippines on Feb 17 and Timor-Leste three days later. The tournament will conclude on Feb 26.

Cambodian football team defeated the Philippine team 1:0 in a match held at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh last evening, as part of the AFF U23 Championship 2022.

The Cambodian national football player Mr. Sin Sovannmakara scored the goal at the 81st minute of the match's second course.

Cambodia earned 6 scores ranking 1st in pole A after beating the Philippines 1:0 on Feb. 17, and Brunei 6:0 on Feb. 14.

On Feb. 20, the Cambodian U23 team will meet with the Timor-Leste U23 team at the same stadium.

Hosted by Cambodia, the AFF U23 Championship 2022 will take place at Morodok Techo National Stadium and Prince Stadium from Feb. 14 to 26, 2022.

Eleven (11) football teams divided into three poles (A, B, C) are joining in this regional football competition.

Pole A includes Cambodia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines and Brunei; pole B Malaysia and Laos (Indonesia and Myanmar have withdrawn from the competition due to COVID-19 crisis), while pole C Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.

The Indian team was on Thursday drawn alongside Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Cambodia in Group D of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup final round qualifiers to be played in Kolkata in June this year. The official draw ceremony was held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

India will play Cambodia on June 8, followed by matches against Afghanistan on June 11 and Hong Kong on June 14. All matches will be played at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

The participating 24 teams have been divided into six groups. The six group winners and the five best second-placed teams will earn a ticket to the AFC Asian Cup in China in 2023.

U23 national football teams from Cambodia and Japan will meet at the International Friendly Match to be held on Sept. 20 at the National Morodok Techo Stadium.

The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) has recently released the name list of the U23 Cambodian national football team for the competition.

The competition aims to strengthen Cambodia-Japan friendship as well as to develop the capacity of Cambodian players for the SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia.
