Drunk Chinese Driver Crashes into Tree on Phnom Penh Street

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 9:20 pm on 7 September 2022, there was a traffic accident where a Chinese man driving at high speed oversteered and crashed into a tree.
The accident happened along the Russian Federation Road in front of Pochentong Airport, Sangkat Kakap 1, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
Prior to the incident, the suspectedly drunk driver was reporte to be driving a white TACOMA (Phnom Penh 2BD-2060) travelling towards Phnom Penh airport, when he oversteered and crashed into a tree. Fortunately no one was injured in the accident. (Except the tree).

Immediately after the incident, the police came down to investigate and took the vehicle to be placed in temporary storage for further legal procedures.

Safety first: theu put nice devider behind, to avoid an other drunk chinese hits it also in the back !!

Or would it be to avoid he escapes ??

Looks like a clear cut case of the trees muscling in on the road dividers game. They probably heard so many tales of Chinese crashing into the dividers this tree said "Hold my beer..."

I’m not a scientist, but I was always under the impression that trees (of substantial size) were the worst things for a vehicle to collide with.
Colliding with walls and other vehicles, they will collapse, crumple or shunt, to a lesser or greater degree, absorbing some of the impact, and reducing inertia, large trees on the other hand are the proverbial immovable object, and if a vehicle collides with one, all the forces are directed back at, and absorbed by, the vehicle and occupants.

Yep, trees are one of the worst things to hit at high speed. Especially big ones.

If you look at those pictures, the tree is not that thick, maybe 12 inches? It has been bent backwards slightly but that's all. Imagine one 2 or 3 feet thick, that won't budge an inch.
