Sister Seeks Justice for Dead Man, Allegedly Tortured in Police Custody
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 6 September 2022, Facebook user YA Nick, who is the sister of a man who died in police custody, accused the authorities of torturing her brother to his death.
The victim's sister, wrote on 4 September 2022, that her brother was accused and was arrested by the police for no apparent reason. He was first taken to the Kork Roka Administrative Police Station on 25 August 2022 at 3 pm.
On the morning of 26 August my mother asked me and my sister to bring some food to my brother to eat in the detention room of the Prek Pnov police station, but the police did not let me in until I had money for noodles and coffee. My brother was uninjured.
The next day, 27 August 2022, at more than 3 pm, the sister brought food to her brother who was detained at the Prek Pnov police station again. YA Nick stated that at the Police Station, they waited in the district inspector's office to visit her brother, but then heard a shout from the district inspector's room, "Help!" Suddenly, after a while, they saw the police carrying her brother out. At that time, her brother had a seizure. The family members ran to assist him, but the police did not let them touch the victim, but cursed and insulted them using very harsh words.
The brother was taken to the hospital unconscious, where the doctors found many scars on his body. However, her brother did not wake up from the unconsciousness for seven days, and on 3 September 2022 at 4:30 pm, the brother unfortunately died.
YA Nick appeals to the relevant institutions and legal authorities to help find justice for her brother.

looks more like the aftermath of hemorrhagic dengue than the aftermath of a beating imo
anyhow, don't rob houses and you won't get locked up in a police station
