Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 7:30 a.m. on August 26, 2022, a shocking event occurred when a fisherman found the body of a newborn baby in a bag, thrown into a pond at a wasteland in Chamkar Ovulk Village, Khan Por Sen Chey.

Residents said that before the incident, a man went fishing in the pond above, and when he arrived he saw a bag in the water, which looked suspicious, so he opened the bag and found the baby's body.


The man was very shocked and reported this to the authorities, who came to the scene to check the finding. They concluded that this baby was just two to three days old and they do not yet know the cause of death. However, what is shocking is that the parents did not bury or cremate properly, but threw the baby away like a dead animal.

The 2nd Kakap Police Station, in cooperation with the Po Sen Chey District Police and the Police Technical and Scientific Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, are conducting an autopsy.
