21 Cambodian Public Holidays in 2023

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodians to Have 21 Public Holidays in 2023
AKP Phnom Penh, August 19, 2022 --
Cambodia will have a total of 21 public holidays in 2023, according to a sub-decree released yesterday by the Royal Government.

Signed recently by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE, the sub-decree indicates a similar number of public holidays to this year, 2022.

Since 2020, the King's birthday holiday was cut off from three to only one day, while five other national and international days, including Meak Bochea Day, National Day of Remembrance, Children's Day, Paris Peace Accords, and Human Rights Day were not on the list of public holidays anymore.

Cambodia is now the fourth Southeast Asian country with the highest number of public holidays after Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar.

PLEASE NOTE: Many Cambodian public holidays that are on a Sunday in 2023 will be celebrated the following Monday. (Public offices will be closed.) For example, this year offices will be closed for the International New Year holiday on 2 January 2023.

Please check the dates again toward the end of the year in case of any last minute changes.

I thought this rule got cancelled since this year?
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to only one life and the inability to restart, once Game Over

It depends on whether the company wants to implement it or not. Nearly all the holidays this year were on Saturdays so it seemed there were very few days off compared to previous years.

KT published this today. So, no lee-way for Sundays, according to them.
(However, I can hardly imagine that people won't get a day off work for the King's birthday, for example. It used to be 3 days, but is only one day now, and next year it's on a Sunday.)
