26Kg Drug Manufacture Operation Busted in Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh Military Seized More Than 26 Kilograms of Drugs
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Following the instructions of General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Commander of the National Gendarmerie, a total of 26 kilograms of drugs (26.1998 kilograms) were seized by the Phnom Penh Military Police in Po Sen Chey District.
It took many months of investigation for police to identify the specific target, leading to the actual crackdown and the large haul of drugs seized at 20:45 on August 4, 2022 at A6-1577, Concrete Road, Prey Lvea Village, Sangkat Choam Chao 2, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
Two suspects were arrested: Him Chheng Hour, David, male, 23 years old, and Hat Ro, male, 29 years old. Relevant evidences seized by the military in this operation include: a total of 26 kilograms of mixed drugs, 15 bottles of liquid ingredients, 5 scales, 2 drug mixing machines, and a machine for packing plastic bags and some other packaging equipment.
The suspects, together with the evidence, were sent to court by the Phnom Penh Anti-Drug Crimes Bureau for legal proceedings after the completion of the investigation.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Following the instructions of General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie has been working hard in the on-going investigation into the 26 kilograms of drugs seized in Po Sen Chey District on 4 August 2022.
As a result, Phnom Penh Armed Forces conducted a search and seizure of 1.5 kg (1.5188 kg) of drugs in Koh Pich, Village 15, Sangkat Tonle Bassac,at 18:30 on August 5. A Chinese male suspect named Chheng Atbang, 46, was arrested for transporting drugs.
After being arrested and taken to the Phnom Penh Gendarmerie Headquarters, the suspect confessed that all the drugs really belonged to him, for the purpose of trafficking them in Phnom Penh.
The suspect, together with the exhibits, was sent to court by the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie Drug Crimes Investigation Office.

UPDATE: Sentenced to Life and 25 Years Prison
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Mr. Song Bonnarith, Judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on the morning of June 28, 2023, announced the sentences of two drug dealers, sentencing one to life imprisonment and the other to 25 years imprisonment, together with a fine of 40 million Riels per person from the state budget for illegal storage, transportation and trafficking of drugs.
The verdict was announced publicly and leaves the right to appeal the sentences in accordance with the law if any party was dissatisfied with the trial.
Him Chheng Hour Sodavid, 22 years old, was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined 40 million riels and a 27-year-old male named Hat Ro, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined 40 million riels.
On August 7, 2022, the Phnom Penh Military Police first sent the two drug dealers to court on charges of the possession and traffic of a total of 26 kilograms of narcotics which were seized during their arrest by the Royal Gendarmerie and Por Senchey Khan armed forces, during a raid at 8:45 pm on August 4, 2022 at A6-1577, Concrete Road, Prey Lvea village, Sangkat Choam Chao 2, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
Police confiscated the following exhibits:
- More than 26 kilograms of mixed drugs
-15 bottles of liquid ingredients
-5 scales
-2 drug mixing machines
- 5 plastic bag ironing machines and some other packaging equipment.
